TITLE: HOW TO CONSTRUCT A GOOD CV

 

AIMOF THE COURSE: The aim is to allow participants to gain an understanding of how to structure and write-up a good CV which will assist them in applying for jobs.

 

PARTICIPANTS: The course is aimed at those who have at least a Grade 10 pass

 

STYLE: The course will be practical and interactive, allowing participants to practise the skills of CV writing, and reviewing job advertisements.

STRUCTURE OF THE COURSE:

 

1. Introduction to a Curriculum Vitae (CV). What is it used for? Why do most employers require one when you apply for a job?

2. How should a CV be structured?

3. What information should a CV contain?

4. What information should you not include on a CV?  

5. What skills/knowledge/information do you need to write a CV?

6. What will employers be looking for when reviewing a CV?

7. Should you include reference contacts on a CV? If so, who should these be?

8. How can you tailor my CV to a specific job/position/organisation?

9. How do you know if an employer requires me to submit a CV for a job application?

10. How do you compile a covering letter and when do I know when one is required?

11. Any questions about CV construction?

12. Opportunity for people to ask general questions about job searching or applying for a job.
